Before the American Collegiate Hockey Association Tournament began, Ohio coach Dan Morris said that playoff games are different, and anything can happen.
His claim was validated in the first round against Iowa State.
With 5:34 left in the second period, Iowa State was awarded a penalty shot when an Ohio player threw the puck out of the crease. The puck had managed to get caught in the player’s jersey and he instinctively threw it away instead of letting it fall out.
